Tom Hinkle graduated from Harvard with a degree in English and went on to teach English and theatre at Phillips Exeter Academy. Following his teaching career, Tom became a dealer in fine arts, which led to his becoming a professional artist. Tom has a long-time interest in historic preservation, having restored some two dozen historic houses, dating from 1699 to 1931. He produced a survey of historic buildings at Small Point, and has lectured on Small Point history. A former member of Greater Portland Landmarks, Tom is co-author of Living with Newer Old Houses, and Centennial History of the Small Point Club.
