Troy Hess is a multi-award-winning photographer and editor, based in Rusk County of northwestern Wisconsin. His photos often depict colorful and dramatic imagery. His passion for abandonment photography began with a search for a provocative subject matter to photograph. Residing in one of the poorest counties in the state, he was reluctant to find an obvious choice, as the abandonment in his area was plentiful. Over the past several years, Troy has captured and documented almost all abandonment located in the state of Wisconsin. He has also ventured beyond the state lines to document some of the neglect found within other Midwestern states.
